Review of Russell Hobbs hand blender

Review : Russell Hobbs hand blender

I bought this blender for £11 and it's been brilliant. It doesn't come with any fancy attachments, but that was fine, because all I wanted was a hand blender.

I needed something to blend soup after having a near disaster blending in a jug blender when the soup was still quite warm.  The pressure built up due to the warmth and blew the lid off splattering soup all over the kitchen. I was lucky it wasn't piping hot! After that I blended in small amounts with a tea towel held firmly over the lid. It took forever!

So after reading reviews on this blender I bought it from Argos. It has two speeds, whizzes veg in soups to a lovely consistency and is super easy to clean.  It has a hook on the side and it now hangs up in my kitchen ready for use.  I really haven't found any negatives.

With the recent cold weather I'm making homemade soups for lunch. They probably take approx 30mins and that includes blending.

They're also really economical. E.g. for lunch I made  minty courgette, fennel and celery soup. From Jason Vale's cookbook 'Super fast Food'. (See my review)  http://healthwisemyjourney.blogspot.co.uk/p/bo.html

Ingredients were: handful of broccoli (substitute for courgettes) half a fennel, 2 sticks of celery, 600mls of boiling water, salt and pepper, handful of mint.
Not even a stock cube.  It was creamy and full of flavour.  So easy with my blender.
